Things to do in La Palma | La Cumbrecita Viewpoint
The island of La Palma is full of viewpoints that provide visitors with a wonderful spectacle of the area, but today we want to tell you about the Mirador La Cumbrecita. Are you ready?
The La Caldera de Taburiente National Park opens up at the foot of this natural balcony that sits at the end of a narrow valley. It is a natural basin six and a half kilometres in diameter in the heart of the island.
You will be able to observe the immense valley and its ravines covered with pine trees that leave unforgettable views. In addition, you can do a simple circular route that will only take you about 40 minutes to the Lomo de las Chozas, where the views are spectacular.
To access La Cumbrecita, as on the whole island, it is essential to have a car to move around the island. From Apartamentos La Caleta we can make it easier for you to rent a car through Acorón Rent a Car.
La Cumbrecita is within the Caldera National Park, so access by car is only allowed after booking a space in the viewpoint car park. You can also visit the El Paso Visitor Center and make your reservation from there.
The road to access is located about 5 kilometres from the La Caldera Visitor Centre (PK 20.5 on the LP-2 road that connects Los Llanos de Aridane and Santa Cruz de La Palma) and during the ascent journey along the road, you’ll be able to see magnificent cloud cascades over the edge of the hillside. Ready for the road?
If you haven’t booked your accommodation yet, now is the time to book your apartment and enjoy a well-deserved rest on the island.
